Concessions Stand Staff

Job Title: Concessions Stand Staff
Department: Food & Beverage
Reports To: Concessions/Catering Supervisor
FLSA Status: PT Hourly, Non-Exempt

This position requires an individual to have customer service skills, positive attitude, also food preparation skills. This individual is responsible for waiting on customers on a timely manner. Assists the Stand Manager in preparing location and area for day to day operations and assists with helping location inventory controls.

Major Responsibilities

  • Maintain safe working conditions and sanitary work area
  • Follow Ralston Arena Food & Beverage rules and regulations
  • Provide great customer service
  • Making sure that food is served at correct temperature

Minimum Requirements

  • Basic working knowledge of food and beverage
  • Basic math ability to accurately count and handle money
  • Basic food preparation
  • Ability to follow directions and effectively perform the work
  • Positive attitude and neat appearance
  • Must speak and understand English
  • Must be able to stand and walk for the duration of the shift
  • Must be at least 19 years of age
  • Must have Beverage Service Training (we will train)
  • Must always have a smile

Operations Staff

Job Title: Operations Staff
Department: Operations
Reports To: Operations Manager
FLSA Status: PT Hourly, Non-Exempt

This position shall perform a multitude of physical tasks to maintain, changeover and clean the facility. The work requires the ability to lift 50lbs. under a varied work schedule. The position reports to the Operations Manager.

Major Responsibilities

  • Convert event related equipment such as tables, chairs, risers, staging and booths
  • Carry out maintenance related and general clean-up duties as required by move-in, decoration, rehearsal, event or move-out activity by all lessees of the Ralston Arena
  • Accept direction and other assigned duties for the Operations Manager
  • Perform custodial duties including dusting, sweeping, mopping, vacuuming and washing fixtures and equipment of the facility
  • Operate light equipment and machines such as forklifts, lifts, loaders and cleaning equipment
  • Continually seek improved methods for doing jobs more efficiently
  • Perform other duties as assigned by superiors

Knowledge, Abilities, and Skills

  • Ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Ability to work a varied and flexible work schedule
  • Ability to lift 50lbs
  • Ability to perform various physical tasks
  • Ability to operate small equipment and machinery with the proper training

Qualifications

  • Graduation from high school or vocational school with a minimum of two years of experience in facility operations of a public assembly venue or like operations in a similar setting

Event Staff

Job Title: Event Staff
Department:  Operations
Reports to: Operations/Event Services Manager
FLSA Status: PT Hourly, Non-Exempt

The Event Staff will work directly with the public. The primary responsibility is to greet guests, seat patrons, work security, park vehicles and check tickets at the entrances to the Ralston Arena. The work is performed under a varied work schedule under the supervision of the Operations/Event Services Manager.

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Greet patrons with a warm smile and friendly greeting
  • Check each patron’s ticket completely, noting date, time, event and seating location.
  • Scan patron’s tickets, returning ticket stub to them
  • Direct them to the appropriate aisle, stairway, etc
  • Assist patrons with questions
  • When needed, count ticket stubs at the end of an event.
  • Usher patrons to correct seats
  • Survey area prior to event, checking for damaged or dirty seats, dirty floor area in seating area and patron areas, etc.
  • Restrict access to areas as directed
  • Respond to safety and injury problems as trained by supervisor
  • Be available during event to assist patrons and position yourself so you may see your seating areas to look for problems or patron concerns.
  • Exercise strict security control in protecting all Ralston Arena property, employees, and patrons for pilferage, damage or destruction.
  • Observe and record breaches of security, safety and actions resulting in damage to building and equipment and investigate the same as required.
  • Monitor the flow of traffic
  • Responsible for crowd control and responding in a polite and courteous manner when dealing with these situations
  • Detain, contact and check with security for further instructions when confronting problem situations
  • All other jobs deemed necessary.

Knowledge, Abilities, and Skills:

  • Ability to deal effectively with the general public and other employees
  • Knowledge of assigned seating area
  • Ability to enforce rules and safety regulations in a positive manner
  • Ability to work flexible hours including weekends, evenings and holidays
  • Ability to read English
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time
  • Must be clean and neat in appearance
  • Ability to deal in a polite manner with public and other employees
  • Initiative to follow through on problems in the absence of supervisors and make the appropriate decision

Training and Experience:

  • Graduation from High School or Equivalent
