Box Office - Ticket Seller

Department: Box Office

Job Title: Ticket Seller

Reports To: Box Office Manager

FLSA Status: PT Hourly, Non-Exempt

This is a casual part-time position in the Box Office.  Hours are dependent on events and are primarily available during the evenings and weekends.  The responsibilities include information distribution, computerized ticket sales, telephone answering, and the balancing of all moneys received from ticket sales at the end of each shift.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Opens and or closes ticket window as required.
  • Accurately dispenses tickets as requested by patrons; accepts payment and makes change accurately.
  • Maintains accurate count when selling hard tickets or accesses computer for count of computer printed tickets.
  • Completes daily ticket sales report.  Keeps accurate daily balance sheet of cash received and tickets sold; balances sales and change bank and submits cash to Box Office supervisor or manager for audit.
  • Handles Will-Call window according to procedures.
  • Demonstrates excellent customer service skills; responds promptly to customer needs, responds to requests for service and assistance, able to work independently and handle most box office questions without assistance.
  • Efficiently and courteously answers questions concerning prices, seating and events.  Gives information concerning coming attractions.
  • Files various records and repowers.  Performs related clerical work as assigned.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Food & Beverage - Bartender

This position is responsible for providing high quality customer service during all events, to achieve customer satisfaction and accurate accounting of all transactions, including inventory.

Major Responsibilities

  • Sets up and services individual beverage locations
  • Properly handle cash
  • Enforce all liquor laws
  • Verify and account for all liquor inventory
  • Maintain proper sanitation of work area
  • Follow proper safety practices in the work area
  • Provide pleasant and efficient service to customers

Duties

  • Reports to F&B Personnel in appropriate uniform, for assigned location
  • Prepares all beverage items for sale in the station
  • Sells to customers, charging amount indicated on the Ralston Arena price list
  • Receives and handles cash
  • Accurately verifies all cash and liquor inventory with supervisor
  • Follows Ralston Arena Bar Procedures
  • Follows all rules and regulations which apply to the beverage operations
  • Requests identification for every guest purchasing alcohol
  • Performs other related duties as assigned

This individual will also make sure the stands in the assigned area are left clean and all uniforms, towels etc. are brought to the check-out point.

Take Coors NE bunker over to Omaha Steaks and fill with 4 buckets of ice (2 per side) and half a bucket of water per side.  Return to Coors NE.

Plug in chili and cheese machines and fill them.  Check in the coolers for bags before grabbing new ones

Turn the slushie machine from CHILL to ICE.  (Hold snow flake button in for about 5 seconds. The screen should change.  Press the snowflake button until it says ICE.)

Check the Pepsi cooler.  Rotate water from the lower shelves to the top shelf of water.  Make each row 6 bottles deep.  (Stock full cases only.  Don’t over stock.  Thin out the rows on the bottom shelf if there isn’t room for a full case.)               Add water to restock sheet if necessary

Check Gatorade.   6 per row,  4 flavors per shelf.  Don’t overstock.  Rotate.  Add Gatorade to restock sheet if necessary

Check Rockstar.  6 per row,  4 flavors per shelf.  Don’t overstock. Rotate.  Add Rockstar to restock sheet if necessary

Check for the following items that won’t be on the restock sheet:  Nacho chips, nacho cheese, popcorn seeds, popcorn oil, popcorn salt, prepackaged popcorn (6 bags per flavor), slushie BIBs, soda lids (at least 2 full sleeves of each size), and employee cups (solid white 24 oz, at least 1 sleeve).   Add necessary items to restock sheet.

Check Pepsi cooler.   12 of each soda flavor, 4 of each Gatorade flavor.  4 of each Kickstart flavor.  Make a space on Metro Deli restock sheet for this location.  Rotate product and don’t overstock

Operations - Changeover Staff

Job Title: Operations Staff

Reports To: Operations Manager

FLSA Status: PT Hourly, Non-Exempt

This position shall perform a multitude of physical tasks to maintain, changeover and clean the facility.  The work requires the ability to lift 50lbs. under a varied work schedule.  The position reports to the Operations Manager.

Major Responsibilities

  • Convert event related equipment such as tables, chairs, risers, staging and booths
  • Carry out maintenance related and general clean-up duties as required by move-in, decoration, rehearsal, event or move-out activity by all lessees of the Ralston Arena
  • Accept direction and other assigned duties for the Operations Manager
  • Perform custodial duties including dusting, sweeping, mopping, vacuuming and washing fixtures and equipment of the facility
  • Operate light equipment and machines such as forklifts, lifts, loaders and cleaning equipment
  • Continually seek improved methods for doing jobs more efficiently
  • Perform other duties as assigned by superiors

Line/Banquet Cook

Job Title: Line/Banquet Cook

Reports to: Chef

FLSA Status: PT Hourly

Line/Banquet cook assists the Chef and other kitchen workers to prepare food to the exact specifications and to set up stations for menu execution. All duties performed in kitchen area must meet health and safety requirements mandated by law.

Key Responsibilities

  • Set up station and collect all necessary supplies to prepare menu for service.
  • Prepare a variety of foods; meat, seafood, poultry, vegetables, and cold food items.
  • Covers, dates, and correctly stores all food prep items.
  • Serve menu items compliant with established standards.
  • Wash and put away any and all dishes
  • Maintains a prepared and sanitary work area at all times.
  • Make sure all storage areas are tidy and all products are stored appropriately.
  • Constantly use safe and hygienic food handling practices.
  • Assists with all duties as assigned by Chef.
  • Is punctual and maintains good attendance record.

Lead Cook

Job Title: Lead Cook

Reports to: Chef

FLSA Status: PT Hourly

Lead Cook assists the Chef to oversee the operations of the kitchen which include supervising the kitchen staff to make sure all duties are performed appropriately and making sure the kitchen areas meet health and safety requirements as mandated by law.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensures customer satisfaction thorough the consistent and quick preparation of menu items. Knows all menu items and its ingredients. Makes sure all food is properly prepared and to the recipes standards set by the Ralston Arena. Checks final product before it is delivered to customer to ensure proper preparation and plating.
  • Maintains a safe and clean environment. Adheres to health code and hold kitchen staff accountable to do the same. Keeps all kitchen areas clean, sanitized, and organized. Uses proper storage techniques when storing dry, refrigerated, and frozen goods including proper labeling and rotation of all ingredients to prevent food waste. Test freshness and quality of products.  Reports food quality issues immediately to Chef or Manager on duty.
  • Possess good leadership skills and a positive attitude.
  • Must have ability to read and understand tickets and BEO orders.
  • Is punctual and maintains good attendance record.
  • Is professional on all levels while clocked in or on the premises of the Ralston Arena
  • Communicates with management when there is an issue, whether it is personal of work related.

Prep Cook/Food Runner

This individual will assists the chef and other kitchen workers in preparing food and will maintain a clean and safe work environment for all staff members. During events this individual will assist the suite servers in delivering food, communicating with guests, and offering support to both the kitchen and concession areas.

Key Responsibilities

  • Cuts and portions different types of foods according to specifications.
  • Covers, dates, and correctly stores all food prep items.
  • Maintains a prepared and sanitary work area at all times.
  • Constantly use safe and hygienic food handling practices.
  • Assists with all duties as assigned by Chef.
  • Is punctual and maintains good attendance record.
  • Wash and put away any and all dishes.
  • Communicate clearly with the kitchen and other staff.
  • Excellent customer service.
  • Check food for quality and accuracy before delivering to guest.

Part-time Receptionist

Department: Operations    

Job Title: Receptionist

Reports to: Event Manager

This position is responsible for assisting customers, clients, event staff, tenants, employees and the general public by operating a multi-line telephone system to answer incoming calls, providing information, and delivering any other customer service needed.

Responsibilities and Duties:

Retrieves messages from voice mail and forwards to appropriate personnel.
Answers incoming telephone calls, determines purpose of callers, and forwards calls to appropriate personnel or department.
Takes and delivers messages or transfers calls to voice mail when appropriate personnel are unavailable.
Answers questions about organization and provides callers with address, directions, information  about events at the facility and other information.
Welcomes on-site visitors, determines nature of business, announces visitors to appropriate personnel, and directs visitors as needed.
Monitors visitor access and issues passes when required.
Operates radio dispatch system as needed.
Updates appointment calendars.
Receives, sorts, and routes mail, and maintains and routes publications.
Maintains fax machines, assists users, sends faxes, and retrieves and routes incoming faxes.
Orders, receives, and maintains office supplies.
Creates and prints fax cover sheets, memos, correspondence, reports, and other documents when necessary.
Performs other duties as needed, to include all duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Abilities, and Skills:

Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal skills.
Ability to type 35-40 word per minute.
Detail oriented.
Ability to work unsupervised.
Works well as team and individually.
Knowledge of Work Processing Software and spreadsheets is helpful.
Basic knowledge of computer systems.

Qualifications

Must speak, read and understand English. 
Must be at least 19 years of age.
Must possess a high school diploma or GED.
One (1) year of related experience and/or training or the equivalent combination of education and experience.
Must be able to work a flexible schedule to include nights, weekends and holidays.
