Box Office - Ticket Seller

Department: Box Office

Job Title: Ticket Seller

Reports To: Box Office Manager

FLSA Status: PT Hourly, Non-Exempt

This is a casual part-time position in the Box Office.  Hours are dependent on events and are primarily available during the evenings and weekends.  The responsibilities include information distribution, computerized ticket sales, telephone answering, and the balancing of all moneys received from ticket sales at the end of each shift.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Opens and or closes ticket window as required.
  • Accurately dispenses tickets as requested by patrons; accepts payment and makes change accurately.
  • Maintains accurate count when selling hard tickets or accesses computer for count of computer printed tickets.
  • Completes daily ticket sales report.  Keeps accurate daily balance sheet of cash received and tickets sold; balances sales and change bank and submits cash to Box Office supervisor or manager for audit.
  • Handles Will-Call window according to procedures.
  • Demonstrates excellent customer service skills; responds promptly to customer needs, responds to requests for service and assistance, able to work independently and handle most box office questions without assistance.
  • Efficiently and courteously answers questions concerning prices, seating and events.  Gives information concerning coming attractions.
  • Files various records and repowers.  Performs related clerical work as assigned.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Box Office - Box Office Supervisor

Job Title: Box Office Supervisor

Summary:

Assists the Box Office Manager in overseeing ticket sales and all aspects of Box Office operation by performing the following duties personally or through subordinates:

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Prepares or assists with preparation of a daily report of business transactions.
  • Prepares daily deposits and reconciliations.
  • Supervises and schedules ticket sellers.
  • Processes group sales orders and complimentary ticket requests.
  • Assists in coordinating all event information between the promoter, facility personnel and the ticket company in a timely manner.
  • Maintains communication with ticket company representatives for updates and/or revisions in computer operations.
  • Assists or prepares cash bank and daily accurate inventory of all tickets distributed and available for sale.
  • Assists with preparation of the final Box Office statement for settlement of each event.
  • Responds to customer complaints and service requests to maintain a positive rapport with the ticket buying public.
  • Maintains files on each event that consist of seats on-hold for the building and promoter, complimentary ticket vouchers, event audits and ticket inventory schedules.

Sells tickets as needed:

  • Opens and or closes ticket window as required.

Assists the Box Office Manager with management of Ticket Sellers.  Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with Ralston Arena's policies and applicable laws.  Assists in training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Computer Skills

To perform this job successfully, an individual must have strong computer skills.  Strong computer skills include working with a variety of programs, beyond Microsoft Office products.  In addition, learning and quickly executing new skills is extremely necessary.  This experience can include, but not limited to, reporting fields, setting up inventory systems, etc.  Experience with spreadsheets and computerized ticket systems desirable, particularly Paciolan experience.

Operations - Zamboni Driver

Job Title: Zamboni Driver

Reports To: Operations Supervisor

Scope and Nature of Role
Responsible for the safe operation and normal maintenance of the ice arena. Oversees the quality and consistency of the facility’s ice rinks and ice resurfacers.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Responsible for maintenance of the ice surface including use of ice chipper, edger and correct ice resurfacing techniques.
  • Responsible for maintenance and basic repairs on all ice resurfacers, including blade changes, oil changes, greasing and other routine maintenance.
  • Responsible for regular inspection of all rink systems including boards, glass, doors and boxes, and development of ongoing maintenance and repair plans.
  • Responsible for initial and ongoing training of all ice techs in proper ice resurfacer operation and maintenance.
  • Perform weekly maintenance by following inspection checklist in ice resurfacer log book.
  • Perform and coordinate the implementation of detailed daily circle checks by all ice techs.
  • Create effective plan of communication and coordination between all ice techs to ensure consistent implementation of ice surface and ice resurfacer plans.
  • Meet at least weekly with the Operations Manager to receive direction and confirm that implementation plans are meeting or exceeding expectations.
  • Assume responsibilities of building Supervisor while on duty to assist staff with the highest level building/event operations.
  • Provide excellent customer service at all times, and ensure that all policies are properly implemented.
  • Know emergency procedures for equipment and evacuation plan.
  • Ensure the overall cleanliness of Ralston Arena Ice.
  • Perform additional duties as required.

Qualifications

  • 2-4 Years of ice resurfacer operation, maintenance and basic repair, or equivalent experience.
  • Experience with rink systems maintenance and repair preferred.
  • Must be able to contribute to a strong team work environment.
  • Must be able to successfully perform the essential functions of this job that are physically demanding.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Must be able to work in a cold environment.

Food & Beverage - Line Cook

Department: Food & Beverage

Job Title:  Line Cook

Reports To: Chef

FLSA Status: PT Hourly, Non-Exempt

This position requires an individual to have customer service skills, positive attitude, also food skills. This individual is responsible for assisting the Chef and the Lead Cooks Organizing, keeping prep staff busy, prepping food for events. Making sure that the Kitchen is kept clean. Assists in preparing location and area for day to day operations and assists with location inventory controls.

Major Responsibilities

  • Maintain safe working conditions and sanitary work area
  • Follow Ralston Arena Food & Beverage rules and regulations
  • Provide great customer service
  • Making sure that food prepped is appealing and served at proper temperature
  • Making sure that all food is out at the proper time

Minimum Requirements

  • Basic working knowledge of food and beverage
  • Basic math ability.
  • Knowledge of food preparation and cooking
  • Ability to follow directions and effectively perform the work

Operations - Changeover Staff

Department: Operations

Job Title: Operations Staff

Reports To: Operations Manager

FLSA Status: PT Hourly, Non-Exempt

This position shall perform a multitude of physical tasks to maintain, changeover and clean the facility.  The work requires the ability to lift 50lbs. under a varied work schedule.  The position reports to the Operations Manager.

Major Responsibilities

  • Convert event related equipment such as tables, chairs, risers, staging and booths
  • Carry out maintenance related and general clean-up duties as required by move-in, decoration, rehearsal, event or move-out activity by all lessees of the Ralston Arena
  • Accept direction and other assigned duties for the Operations Manager
  • Perform custodial duties including dusting, sweeping, mopping, vacuuming and washing fixtures and equipment of the facility
  • Operate light equipment and machines such as forklifts, lifts, loaders and cleaning equipment
  • Continually seek improved methods for doing jobs more efficiently
  • Perform other duties as assigned by superiors

Receptionist - Part Time

This position is responsible for assisting customers, clients, event staff, tenants, employees and the general public by operating a multi-line telephone system to answer incoming calls, providing information, and delivering any other customer service needed.

Essential Duties and Responsibilties:

  • Retrieves messages from voice mail and forwards to appropriate personnel
  • Answers incoming telephone calls, determines purpose of callers, and forwards calls to appropriate personnel or department
  • Takes and delivers messages or transfers calls to voice mail when appropriate personnel are unavailable
  • Answers questions about organization and provides callers with address, directions, information about events at the facility and other information
  • Welcomes on-site visitors, determines nature of business, announces visitors to appropriate personnel, and directs visitors as needed
  • Monitors visitor access and issues passes when required

  • Updates appointment calendars
  • Receives, sorts, and routes mail, and maintains and routes publications

Food & Beverage - Cashier

This position is responsible for providing high quality customer service during all events, to achieve customer satisfaction and accurate accounting of all transactions, including inventory.

Major Responsibilities

  • Properly handle cash
  • Set up Banks and Deposits as needed
  • Verify and account for all monies
  • Maintain proper sanitation of work area
  • Follow proper safety practices in the work area
  • Provide pleasant and efficient service to staff

Duties

  • Reports to F&B Personnel in appropriate uniform, for assigned location
  • Prepares all banks for all operating stands, bars, p
  • Sells to customers, charging amount indicated on the Ralston Arena price list
  • Receives and handles cash
  • Accurately verifies all cash and liquor inventory with supervisor
  • Follows Ralston Arena Bar Procedures
  • Follows all rules and regulations which apply to the beverage operations
  • Requests identification for every guest purchasing alcohol
  • Performs other related duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Must be at least 21 years of age
