PURPOSE OF POSITION:  This is arena catering and concessions supervisory and office work.  The incumbent of this position leads food and beverage staff in organizing and preparing concession stands and rooms for events and banquets, serving customers, and resolving problems with food and beverage operations during the course of an event or banquet; ensures food and beverage spaces in the arena are clean and organized following an event or banquet; ensures staff performs accurate inventory of concession items (e.g., cups, liquor, wine, beer) both prior to and after an event; assists catering and concessions manager with staff scheduling, supply ordering, pick-ups and deliveries.  Duties are performed under general supervision using some initiative and independent judgement.
 
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
 
Leads and supervises food and beverage employees in preparing concession areas and rooms for events and banquets; ensures tables, chairs, linens, silverware, glasses and other objects and equipment are set up according to the room plan; provides direction to employees and answers questions.
 
Ensures staff properly prepares concession areas for events, including inventory of cups, liquor, wind and beer; ensures cash drawers are counted and staff has adequate cash on hand to make change; troubleshoots event and assists staff as necessary to resolve problems including resupply of concession areas, making change, and resolving customer complaints.
 
Supervises clean-up of arena concession and banquet spaces following an event or function; ensures supplies and equipment are properly stored away and arena spaces are clean and orderly.
 
Assists Catering and Concessions manager with scheduling and recruiting employees; ordering supplies and accepting delivery and other minor office tasks.
 
Performs related duties as required.

Audio/Video Operator 1

REPORTS TO:            Director of Technical Services

SUPERVISES:    

PURPOSE OF POSITION:     This is entry-level technical services work operating cameras, audio equipment, graphic displays, replay equipment, and other components of a live and broadcast sports/entertainment venue. Incumbents of this position are cross-trained to perform each function and work as a team to capture and broadcast live action and initiate and coordinate timely announcements, music and graphic displays and other activities to enhance the entertainment value of the event for the live and home audience.  After a training period, functions are performed under supervision according to prescribed procedures.  

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

As part of the technical team, monitors and directs all technical event activities including camera, replay and graphics.

Uses fixed and portable cameras and associated equipment to capture and broadcast live sports and entertainment; responds to direction and cues, adjusts camera activities accordingly.

Operates sound equipment in arena to ensure announcements, music and other audio portions of the event function properly and are audible to the audience.  

Prepares graphic displays in show control system; monitors events and initiates graphics according to set sequence and in response to live action as it unfolds in the arena.  

Operates and monitors replay systems; takes cues and direction to initiate replay.

Performs related duties as required.

Some knowledge of modern audio/video, broadcast, camera and graphics methods, practices, equipment and technologies.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Uses a variety of kitchen equipment including knives, food processors, mixers, ovens, burners, fryers and broilers to prepare food according to direction.  

Maintains sanitary conditions of kitchen; cleans surfaces of all equipment used during and after food preparation; cleans and organizes walk-in refrigerator and stock shelves; sweeps and mops floors; discards waste items properly.  

Washes dishes, utensils, glasses, cups, pots and pans; replaces to proper location for storage.

Identifies and reports equipment malfunctions.

This position is responsible for providing high quality customer service during all events, to achieve customer satisfaction and accurate accounting of all transactions, including inventory.

Major Responsibilities

  • Sets up and services individual beverage locations
  • Properly handle cash
  • Enforce all liquor laws
  • Verify and account for all liquor inventory
  • Maintain proper sanitation of work area
  • Follow proper safety practices in the work area
  • Provide pleasant and efficient service to customers

Duties

  • Reports to F&B Personnel in appropriate uniform, for assigned location

This position requires an individual to have excellent customer service skills, a positive attitude, and food preparation skills. This individual is responsible for making sure the concession stands are opened for the events and are well stocked with all necessary supplies needed for the event.  This position is assigned a certain area during the event to make sure supplies do not run out and things run properly during an event.  He/she is responsible for completing transfer sheets for all inventories they delivered. He/she will assist in preparing the location and area for day to day operations, as well as location inventory controls. This individual will also make sure the stands in the assigned area are left clean and all uniforms, towels etc. are brought to the check-out point.

This position requires an individual to have customer service skills, positive attitude, also food preparation skills.  You will be responsible for either setting up your suite and taking care of your clients food and beverage needs for the event.  Servers will be responsible for taking orders from guests in the Club area.  Servers will also help when we have catered parties.

This position shall perform a multitude of physical tasks to maintain, changeover and clean the facility.  The work requires the ability to lift 50lbs. under a varied work schedule.  The position reports to the Operations Manager.

Major Responsibilities

  • Convert event related equipment such as tables, chairs, risers, staging and booths
  • Carry out maintenance related and general clean-up duties as required by move-in, decoration, rehearsal, event or move-out activity by all lessees of the Ralston Arena
  • Accept direction and other assigned duties for the Operations Manager
  • Perform custodial duties including dusting, sweeping, mopping, vacuuming and washing fixtures and equipment of the facility
  • Operate light equipment and machines such as forklifts, lifts, loaders and cleaning equipment
  • Continually seek improved methods for doing jobs more efficiently

Receptionist is an on call; per event employee who represents the Ralston Arena as initial contact for prospective clients and the general public both on the phone and in person. Receptionist will also assist guests with event information and or route necessary calls to appropriate personnel.

Intellectual/Social demands:

  • While performing duties of this job, the employee is continuously asked to multi-task under time constraints and with moderate to high pressure situations. Position requires constant attention to precise details and accuracy of specified standards including: following simple to complex (more than 3 steps) instructions, and concentration which frequently extends beyond 30 minutes at a time. This position also requires frequent use of interpersonal skills including: ability to direct/inform staff and foster collaboration, greeting and directing clients verbally and with visual cues towards building locations.  Employee must be able to recognize and resolve conflicts, and be able to openly communicate in writing and verbally with clients. Employee will frequently communicate via radio and in-person with others and exchange accurate information. This position requires employee to frequently work both independently or as part of a team.

 

Physical demands:

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee will frequently operate a computer and other office devices such as calculators, telephones, copy machines, faxes and printers. Employee will also occasionally move about inside facility before/during/after events in the course of directing clients to building locations.  Employee must constantly communicate via radio, telephone, email and in-person with others and exchange accurate information.  Employee may occasionally be required due to business demands and event operations to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.

Work environment:

  • The duties of this position are performed primarily in doors in an office environment.  The noise level in the work environment is usually minimal to moderate during non-event days and moderate to loud during event days.
